General
The song is about women who have tormented men throughout history. It's Eve in Paradise, Lot's wife, Delilah and Marie Antoinette. He tells that Adam was happy, but only until Eve got her problems with an apple ( There was Adam, happy as a man could be Till Eve got him messin 'with that old apple tree ), Lot's wife becomes a pillar of salt, Delilah cuts Samson's hair and Marie Antoinette recommends eating cake to hungry children who are crying for bread . ( Marie Antoinette met some hungry cats at the gate They was crying for bread, she said, “Let them eat cake” ) Emperor Nero mentioned, but his behavior in the fire of Rome is described as feminine. ( From our history books we all learned Nero fiddled while Rome was burned ) After all the historical events, a warning is sung to the world of men. ( You can buy a woman clothes And give her money on the side No matter what you do She ain't never satisfied ) It doesn't matter what men do, women are never satisfied.
The song reached first place on the R&B jukebox charts and 17th place in the pop charts.

Individual evidence
- ↑ Fleecie Moore is the wife of Louis Jordan, but according to statements by Jordan himself, he is the co-author and his wife's name was only used so that she would get a share of the royalties. According to Jordan, she had no idea about music.
