Ain Dubai ( Arabic عين دبي, DMG ʿAin Dubayy ) is the name of a ferris wheel under construction in Dubai ( United Arab Emirates ). It is to become the largest Ferris wheel in the world and go into operation for the Expo in October 2020.
Construction of the ferris wheel began in May 2015. It should be around 210 m high, have 48 cabins and accommodate 1,400 people. A trip should take 48 minutes. It is being built on the artificially raised island of Bluewaters Island , which is located off the coast opposite the high-rise Jumeirah Beach Residence in the Dubai Marina district . The costs are expected to amount to around EUR 238 million.
