Aino Trosell (born May 21, 1949 in Malung , Sweden ) is a Swedish writer .

Life

Aino Trosell was born the daughter of a forest worker and an unskilled worker. Her parents divorced when she was six years old; she grew up with her single mother. She herself was working as a shipyard worker when she made her debut as a writer in 1978 with her socially critical novel Socialsvängen . Since then she has written over 20 books, including historical and detective novels. Her two detective novels, Ytspänning and Om hjärtat ännu slår , which won awards in 2000 and 2001 , were both published in German. The former was awarded the Poloni Prize and was published in a translation by Gisela Kosubek under the German title Die Taucherin bei Kiepenheuer & Witsch . The latter was awarded the Swedish Crime Prize and was published, also in a translation by Kosubek, under the German title Solange das Herz noch Beats by Bastei Lübbe .
