The Swedish Crime Prize (Original: Svenska Deckarakademins pris ) is a renowned literary prize for crime literature . It has been awarded annually since 1971 by the Svenska Deckarakademin (Swedish Crime Writers' Academy, also: Swedish Academy for Detection), founded by 13 Swedish authors, in various categories ( The Martin Beck Award , Bästa svenska kriminalroman , Bästa svenska debut , Grand Masteru. a.) awarded. While initially only international writers whose novels were published in Swedish were awarded the prize, since 1982 there has also been an award for the best detective novel by a Swedish author. The background to the introduction of a national award was the animation by the international congress of crime writers (IAEP / IACW Conference) in Stockholm in 1981. The international award was initially renamed The Martin Beck Award in 1996 . Inspector Martin Beck, known from the novels by Maj Sjöwall & Per Wahlöö , was the inspiration for this . Since 2009 the award has been called Den Gyllene Kofoten(Eng. The golden crowbar ).
