Niklas Carl Bosson Natt och Dag (born October 3, 1979 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish writer and journalist .

Life

Niklas Natt och Dag comes from the Swedish noble family Natt och Dag . He studied at the University of Kalmar , where he graduated in 2003. Then he was editor-in-chief of the men's and lifestyle magazine Slitz , after which he became a freelance journalist in Stockholm .

In 2017 he published the historical crime novel 1793 , which is set in Stockholm in the late 18th century and has received the Swedish Crime Award for the best Swedish first novel as well as the Audience Award Book of the Year 2018 and has been translated into over 30 languages. In Sweden his debut was sold over 300,000 times. In March 2019, the German translation rose to number five on the Spiegel paperback bestseller list .

2020, translated by Leena Flegler into German sequel appeared in 1794 in the Piper Verlag . While in the first volume the investigator duo consists of Jean Michael Cardell from the Stockholm City Guard and Cecil Winge, in the sequel Cardell investigates together with Cecil's brother Emil.
