Inger Frimansson

Inger Frimansson , née Wilén (born November 14, 1944 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish writer .

Life

Inger Frimansson grew up on the Baltic Sea island of Gotland , in Småland and in Jönköping . She discovered her joy in writing at an early age, successfully took part in literary competitions, but after graduating from high school in 1965, she initially trained as a journalist . It was only at the age of 40 that she published her first fiction work. Since then appeared from her numerous detective stories , psychological thriller , short stories , poems and children's books . Inger Frimansson achieved her breakthrough in 1998 with the detective novel “Gute Nacht, mein Geliebter”, for which she was awarded the Swedish detective award in the category “Best Swedish detective novel”. She received the same award again in 2005 for “The Shadow in the Water”. She has been a full-time writer since the beginning of 1998.

Frimansson's crime novels are less about the plot and the uncovering of a crime than about the psyche of the perpetrators and generally about human abysses. In her first crime novel Die Handpuppe it turns out at the end that no crime at all has happened.

Inger Frimansson has been married to Jan Frimansson since 1968. They live in Södertälje near Stockholm and have two grown children.
