Rose Elsa Lagercrantz , née Schmidt (born June 12, 1947 in Stockholm , Sweden ) is a Swedish writer .

Life

Rose Schmidt's parents survived the Holocaust , which was not discussed in the family. In 1966 she married the Swedish pediatrician Hugo Lagercrantz . Since 1973 she has written several dozen books for children, young people and adults, some of which have won awards. Some of her books have been translated into various Asian and European languages. The German writer James Krüss summarized two of her children's books in German rhymes.
