Ulf Durling (born August 13, 1940 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish writer , doctor and psychiatrist .

Life and work

Durling spent his school days from 1948 to 1959 in Köping . In 1966 he finished his medical studies at the Karolinska Institutet . Durling lives in Sollentuna near Stockholm, was a psychiatry teacher and director at Danderyd Hospital. Since 1996 he has been head of the mobile acute team in Mörby, responsible for the Danderyd- Vaxholm- Österåkers region. He has two children with the psychotherapist and wife Helena Durling.

Durling's knowledge of the dark side of the human soul enables him to write compelling psychological crime novels , psychological thrillers, and social crime novels. In 1971 he made his debut with the book Gammal Ost , which was published in German in 1996 under the title After eating should you rest .

Durling is a member of the Swedish crime writers academy and the Stockholm crime writers association.
