Gunnar Staalesen
Gunnar Staalesen (born October 19, 1947 in Bergen , Norway ) is a Norwegian writer who mainly writes detective novels . He also works as a dramaturge at the Den Nationale Scene theater in Bergen.
Life
Gunnar Staalesen studied English, French and literature. Since 1970 he has published detective novels; The most successful of these is the series about the solitary private detective Varg Veum, which is stylistically based on the hard-boiled novels by Raymond Chandler and Ross Macdonald . The first showed several episodes in 2008 and 2009 as Der Wolf with Trond Espen Seim in the title role, the second German television from 2012 under the title Varg Veum.
He lives in Bergen with his family.
Since 2011, Staalesen has been writing a short comic book crime thriller every year together with the illustrator Arild Midthun , which is printed on more than 22 million milk cartons at the Tine dairy and is very popular in Norway.
