Palle Rosenkrantz Prize
The Palle Rosenkrantz Prize (Original: Palle Rosenkrantz Prisen ) is a renowned literary prize for crime literature in Denmark . It is awarded annually by the "Det danske Kriminalakademi" (DKA), founded in 1986, for a crime novel published in Danish and is currently (2010) endowed with 7,500 Danish kroner (approx. 1,000 euros). In a second category, the Palle-Rosenkrantz Honorary Prize for special services to Danish crime literature, there has so far only been one honor. Sponsors are the Danish publishers Borgen, Cicero, Gyldendal , Forum, Klim, Lindhardt & Ringhof and Modtryk. The namesake of the award, Baron Palle Rosenkrantz (1867–1941), is Denmark's first crime writer due to his story Hvad skovsøen gemte , published in 1903 .
