Trond Espen Seim (born October 4, 1971 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian actor who also became known in the non-Norwegian area mainly for his impersonation of the private investigator Varg Veum .

Life

Seim studied at Statens teaterhøgskole (State Drama School) in Oslo. He had his first engagement at the theater Den Nationale Scene , where he played Alex in a stage version of A Clockwork Orange , for whose outstanding performance (“strange sceneprestasjon”) he received the Heddaprisen in 2000 , or Julian in Ibsen's Emperor and Galilean . In 2001 he moved to the Norwegian National Theater .

Since 2006, Seim has played the former social worker and current private detective Varg (Norwegian: "Wolf") Veum in the film adaptations of the crime novels by the Norwegian writer Gunnar Staalesen , known in German-speaking countries as Der Wolf and initially broadcast in Das Erste and at irregular intervals there and were repeated on Hessen television . Between 2010 and 2012 new films were made, which were broadcast under the title Varg Veum on the second German television .

From 2011 to 2013 he appeared as himself with Rolf Lassgård and Iben Hjejle in seven episodes of the Norwegian television series Dag . He is currently and since 2014 engaged in all episodes of the Danish-Swedish-Norwegian co-production of the television series Arvingerne . He is married to Cecilie Frostad Egeberg.
