The fairy Rothniam appears regularly to the legendary hero Fingein mac Luchta on Samhain (November 1st) and prophesies the most important events of the following year. At one point he was told that King Feidlimid would have a son that same night who would one day unite all five provinces of Ireland under his rule. This will also establish a family of 53 kings. This birth is accompanied by mythical signs, such as the creation of lakes and rivers, as well as the reappearance of a tree that perished during the flood.

The announced future Hochkönig is Conn Cétchathach , whom Fingein served as a loyal follower for 50 years and for whom he ultimately died in battle.
