Leabhar Mhic Carthaigh Riabhaigh
Book of Lismore (called "The Book of Mac Cárthaigh Riabhach", "The Book of Lismore" ) is the name of a collection manuscript in Irish language , which in the early 15th century in Lismore ( County Waterford was compiled). It is named after the commissioner of the work, Fingin Mac Cárthaigh Riabhach († 1505), head of the MacCarthy clan . In 1814, the parchment book was rediscovered by craftsmen in Lismore Castle. Nearly 50 folios were lost in text studies soon after their discovery, but these pages have survived as copies.
It should not be confused with the Scottish Leabhar Deathan Lios Mòir ("The Book of the Dean of Lismore") from the 16th century.

The book was compiled from texts from the lost Book of Monasterboice (named after the ruins of the Mainistir Bhuithe monastery ) and other manuscripts. The variety of topics in the content ranges from the lives of Irish saints, especially St. Patrick , Columban of Iona and Brigida of Kildare , Acallam na Senórach ("The Conversation with the Ancients") and Airne Fingein ("Fingein's Night Watch") to stories from the Finn cycle . An Irish translation of the book Il Milione by Marco Polo , Leabhar Ser Marco Polo , is also included.
