Aitor López Rekarte (born August 18, 1975 in Arrasate , Guipuzcoa ) is a Spanish football player .
Since his youth he was associated with the Spanish first division club Real Sociedad . For ten years (1997–2007) he was in the Basque first team. In the summer of 2007 he left the first division relegated to play for the Andalusian newly promoted UD Almería . He's playing a strong season with Almería and even has a chance of international business ten rounds before the end of the season. Thanks to his good performances, he briefly made it to the Spanish national soccer team in September 2004 .
