Aka Hansen

Aka Hansen (* 1987 in Aarhus ) is a Danish - Greenlandic film producer and director .

Life

Aka Hansen studied at the alternative Super16 film school at Nordisk Film Studio in Valby ( Copenhagen ). In Greenland she worked for film and television from 2008 to 2014. There she founded the production company Tumit together with Malik Kleist . The horror film Qaqqat Alanngui (2011), in which a group of school leavers is attacked by a hermit with magical powers, was the first film to be made exclusively in Greenlandic and caused a sensation when it was released. Despite an age limit from 15, some parents brought their children to the show; for many of these children it was the first film in Greenlandic they saw.

Aka Hansen moved to Copenhagen in 2014 and has since participated in various Northern European film festivals with her documentaries Green Land , STG and Half & helped . Half & half was also presented at the Berlinale 2017 .
