Akemi Murakami

Akemi Murakami (born November 29, 1983 in Osaka ) is a Japanese pianist who works as a lied duo and chamber music partner in Germany.

biography

Akemi Murakami first studied in Kyoto, where in 2006 a work by the song pianist Helmut Deutsch inspired her to specialize in song accompaniment. For this purpose she moved to Freiburg and then obtained her master class diploma in song composition at the University of Music and Theater in Munich with Helmut Deutsch and Donald Sulzen. She is the official accompanist for singing at the ARD music competition and at festivals such as the Heidelberger Frühling and the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg . At BR-Klassik, she regularly participates in programs in the youth magazine SWEET SPOT (previously U21vernetzt) ​​in which song singers are presented.

She performed as a piano partner of well-known vocal soloists such as B. Benjamin Appl , Thomas E. Bauer , Daniel Behle , Okka von der Damerau , Angelika Kirchschlager and Julian Prégardien . Since 2011 she has formed a permanent lied duo with the baritone Andreas Burkhart .

Akemi Murakami is the initiator and artistic director of the Liederleben concert series , which has been taking place in Munich since the beginning of 2017 , for which she engages well-known vocal soloists and takes on the piano part herself.
