Akja Täjiýewna Nurberdiýewa (* 1957 in Ashgabat ) is a Turkmen politician and chairwoman of the Assembly of Turkmenistan , the Turkmen Parliament.

Life

Nurberdiýewa studied pedagogy and graduated as a candidate in science .

She has been a member of parliament since 2000 (other sources 1994) and has been deputy chairwoman since 2005 at the latest.

When, shortly after the death of Saparmyrat Nyýazow in December 2006, the chairman of the parliament Öwezgeldi Ataýews was arrested, she initially took over his office on a provisional basis and was officially elected in February. In 2014 she was elected chairman of parliament for the third time in a row.
