As cordless power tools all power-grid to power tools whose occupation of power by means of a battery occurs.
Cordless tools now have a large share in the sale of power tools. This has been made possible by the constant improvement in battery technology and the associated increase in performance and operating time for the devices.
Types of cordless tools
- Screwdriver : Usually a device with one gear and low, infinitely adjustable speeds.
- Drill / driver : Has a two-speed gearbox with low and high speeds of the drill chuck (correspondingly high torque for screwing and lower torque for drilling). Some 1-speed tools are sometimes also offered as cordless drills.
- Angle screwdriver : The drill chuck is angled by 90 ° in order to work in hard-to-reach places.
- Articulated screwdriver : Small, handy device primarily for assembly work. The handle can be bent at the back to get into narrow spaces.
- Straight screwdriver : Similar to the articulated screwdriver, without an adjustable handle. The battery is often not removable.
- Impact wrench : Mainly used in motor vehicles or other mechanical areas. Achieves high torques.
- Impact drill : Cordless drill / screwdriver with impact function using ratchet washers. Suitable for drilling in stone material.
- Rotary hammer : Equipped with a pneumatic hammer mechanismand SDS-plus drill chuck.
