Al-Qa'im is a place in the Iraqi governorate of al-Anbar . The city lies on the banks of the Euphrates . The al-Qa'im border crossing between the states of Syria and Iraq is in the immediate vicinity of the city .
A refugee camp set up by the United Nations near Al-Qa'im in 2014 had to be abandoned in 2014 due to the unstable situation there.
To the south of the Husaibah district there is a 317.9 meter high transmission mast for broadcasting television and FM radio programs.
