Al Dvorin
Albert Dvorin (born November 18, 1922 in Chicago , Illinois ; † August 22, 2004 at Ivanpah , California) was an American band leader and artist mediator who became known with the saying " Elvis has left the building ."
Career
Dvorin met Elvis Presley through Colonel Tom Parker in 1955, and organized Presley's concert tours for the next 22 years. After Presley's death, Dvorin remained cautious and only returned to Elvis events after Parker's death.
Dvorin was killed in a car accident on his way home from a concert by Elvis impersonator Paul Casey. He and Elvis' photographer Ed Bonja were driving from Palm Springs to Las Vegas when their vehicle went off the road. Dvorin was thrown out of the car and died at the scene of the accident. Ed Bonja was treated in the hospital and discharged.
