Al Meier

Al Meier (born December 9, 1954 in Zurich ) is a Swiss painter and designer .

Life

Al Meier (real name; Alfred Jakob Meier) completed his apprenticeship as a retoucher , then attended the school for experimental design in Zurich and has worked as a freelance painter, curator and designer since 1976 . Between 1976 and 1986 he studied in the United States of America, North Africa, Italy, the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic. From 1997 to 2000 he was artistic director of the Katzenstrick art room in Einsiedeln SZ.

Al Meier is married to Christine Meier-Bächlin. The couple have two sons. Al Meier and Christine Meier-Bächlin currently live in the canton of Schwyz.
