The El Salam Maritime Transport Company is the largest private shipping company in Egypt and the Middle East . It operates a fleet of 15 ferries in the Red Sea , connecting ports in Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
On February 2, 2006 , the company's Al-Salam Boccaccio 98 ferry sank .
