The Ala-Kitka is a lake in the Finnish landscape of Northern Ostrobothnia .
The 48.5 km² lake is at an altitude of 240.4 m and is located in the municipality of Kuusamo . Together with Yli-Kitka to the south, it forms the Kitkajärvi lake system . The Ala-Kitka receives the water of the Yli-Kitka via the Kilkilösalmi Sound . The Kitkajoki leaves the lake on the north bank of the Ala-Kitka .
