Alabama Public Radio (APR) is the public broadcaster of the US state Alabama , based in Tuscaloosa . APR consists of a network of four stations and with them supplies the western half of the state of Alabama with a program offering consisting of classical, folk, jazz and oldies as well as its own news programs. The program is supplemented with programs on National Public Radio , Public Radio International and the American Public Media Network . Elizabeth Brock is the CEO.

In addition to the main program APR News & Classic , the HD radio channel Xponential Radio (APR Rocks) is also produced. WUAL-FM broadcasts the BBC World Service on HD3 .

APR stations

WUAL-FM is the parent station of the APR and has been licensed to the University of Alabama . The UA College of Communication and Information Sciences also uses the station as a training platform for its students. WUAL-FM went on the air in January 1982 and was Alabama's fifth public radio station at the time.
