Alalkomenios
Alalkomenios ( ancient Greek Ἀλαλκομένιος ) is a month of the Boeotian calendar .
It was the twelfth month after Damatrios and before Bukatios , in the Julian calendar it roughly corresponds to the month of November . The Boeotic year ended with him, and the month also served as a leap month . The name is traced back to the festival in honor of Athena Alalkomeneis , which took place this month in a shrine in Alalkomenai . The sanctuary was believed to be the birthplace of Athena. The month at Plutarch is documented in literature ; it is known in inscriptions from Orchomenus , Chaironeia and Tanagra .
