Alan Dargin

Alan Dargin (born July 13, 1967 , † February 24, 2008 in Sydney ) was an Australian musician .

Alan Dargin dedicated his life to the didgeridoo , possibly the oldest musical instrument on earth. He learned to play at the age of 5, as tradition dictates, from his grandfather. Dargin was the first native of Australia to perform worldwide with the didgeridoo. Dargin has performed with the London Symphony Orchestra in New York , Paris and London , among others . He also made appearances on television and at all major didgeridoo festivals. He also acted in several films, including in 1995 in the Australian comedy " Priscilla - Queen of the Desert ".

Dargin died of a cerebral haemorrhage on February 24, 2008 at Saint Vincent's Hospital in Sydney .
