Alan Keir Rothnie
Sir Alan Keir Rothnie CMG 1967, KCVO 1980 (born May 2, 1920 in Worksop, Nottinghamshire , † April 24, 1997 ) was a British diplomat .
Life
Alan Keir Rothnie was Chargé d'affaires in Kuwait in 1961, Counselor in Baghdad from 1961 to 1964, Counselor in Moscow from 1965 to 1968 , Consul General in Chicago from 1969 to 1972 , Ambassador to Saudi Arabia from 1972 to 1976 and Ambassador to the United States from 1976 to 1980 Switzerland . From 1985 to 1990 he headed Newsbrief Ltd. In 1953 he married Anne Harris. They have a daughter and two sons.
