Alan Lambert

Alan Lambert is an American basketball coach . He worked for the German Bundesliga clubs Langen, Hagen and Tübingen, among others.

career

Lambert played basketball from 1976 to 1978 at Western State Colorado University , then from 1978 to 1981 at California Polytechnic State University . During this time he completed studies in history and sports science.

From 1981 to 1985 Lambert worked as a lecturer in sports and exercise science at Pennsylvania State University and in the 1984/85 season as an assistant coach of the college's women's basketball team. From 1985 to 1989 he was an assistant coach for the women's team at Oregon State University .

From 1989 he coached the women's team at TV Langen , in 1990 he took over the coaching position for the men's team in Hessen and led them to return to the basketball league in the 1990/91 season . In the 1991/92 season, however, relegation was missed in the Bundesliga, after the end of the round Lambert left office.

In the 92/93 season he was head coach of Bundesliga club Brandt Hagen and in the following year for SV 03 Tübingen .

In 1995 Lambert returned to his home country, settled in the state of Arizona  and founded the website "The Basketball Highway", on which he offered information and teaching content for coaches. In 2002 he brought out the textbook Basketball Highway's Playground Pointers: Basic Stuff to Develop Your Game. In 2010 he became an active member of the non-profit association “BeLikeCoach”, which has set itself the task of promoting the scientific approach to education and learning through sport.
