Alan S. Kaufman
Alan S. Kaufman (born April 1944 ) is an American psychologist . He became known for developing intelligence tests. He is married to the psychologist Nadeen L. Kaufman . Both have been working at the Child Study Center in the School of Medicine at Yale University since 1997 .
Between 1978 and 1979 he developed the original Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children (K-ABC). His other developments include:
- Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement (K-TEA / NU)
- Kaufman Brief Intelligence Test (K-BIT)
- Kaufman Survey of Early Academic and Language Skills (K-SEALS)
- Kaufman Adolescent and Adult Intelligence Test (KAIT) (German adaptation: Kaufman test to measure intelligence for adolescents and adults )
- Kaufman Short Neuropsychological Assessment Procedure (K-SNAP)
- Kaufman Functional Academic Skills Test (K-FAST)
Kaufman is a proponent of the bell curve and signed the Mainstream Science on Intelligence declaration in 1994 .
He has a son named James C. Kaufman .
