Provincial government and city senate Häupl I was the name for the first Viennese provincial government and the Vienna city senate under Mayor and Governor Michael Häupl . The city government was sworn in on November 7, 1994 after the resignation of Helmut Zilk as mayor and replaced the state government Zilk III . The state government of Häupl I was in office until the election of the state government of Häupl II in 1996.

Vice Mayor Hans Mayr resigned with Helmut Zilk, the 2nd Vice Mayor Ingrid Smejkal returned to the state parliament and local council. Häupl subsequently brought Margarete Laska into the state government, who was subsequently elected 1st Vice Mayor, the previous city councilor Sepp Rieder took over the office of 2nd Vice Mayor. In addition, Werner Faymann and Friedrich Svihalek took over as new city councilors. The distribution of departments has also been partially changed compared to the previous government.
