Provincial government and city senate Häupl III was the name for the third Viennese provincial government and the Vienna city senate under the mayor and governor Michael Häupl between 2001 and 2005. The city government was sworn in after the state and municipal council elections in 2001 on April 27, 2001 and dissolved the provincial government Häupl II from. After regaining the absolute majority of the mandate, Michael Häupl formed a sole government again. The SPÖ provided 9 members in the 15-member city senate and the state government. The FPÖ provided three members, the ÖVP two and the Greens one representative, but all of them remained without a department due to the SPÖ's sole government.
During the government period, the first change in government took place on November 26, 2003. On this day Johannes Hahn replaced Peter Marboe as a non-executive city councilor. On July 1, 2004 to a major government reshuffle. The executive city councilors Isabella Kossina and Elisabeth Pittermann are leaving their office, the non-executive city councilor Maria Vassilakou has moved to the state parliament and local council as club chairwoman. Kossina was succeeded by Ulli Sima as the new City Councilor for the Environment , and the previous City Councilor for Integration, Women's Issues, Consumer Protection and Human Resources, Renate Brauner, took over the Pittermann department for health and hospitals . At the same time, the department was renamed Health and Social Affairs. Sonja Wehsely was appointed to the government as the successor to the Brauners department .
