State government and city senate Jonas II
State government and city senate Jonas II was the name for the Vienna state government and the Vienna city senate under the mayor and governor Franz Jonas between 1954 and 1959. The state government Jonas II was in office from the inauguration of the government on December 10, 1954 until the new election of the state government Jonas III on December 11, 1959. The deputy governor was appointed on December 14, 1954 by the Vienna provincial government. After Alfred Migsch's resignation on April 13, 1956, Johann Riemer succeeded him on the same day as city councilor. Felix Slavik replaced Johann Resch on September 27, 1957 , who had resigned from his position on September 19. Kurt Heller succeeded Leopold Thaller in the construction department on September 19, 1958 , and after the death of Karl Honay on June 5, 1959, Maria Jacobi became the first woman to be a city councilor in Vienna since World War II. On June 26, 1959, Felix Slavik was elected Vice Mayor and Deputy Governor in place of Honay. The last change came on July 16, 1959, when Josef Afritsch resigned as city councilor and Rudolf Sigmund was elected as his successor the following day .
