Alarma Man is a Swedish indie band that first hit the scene in 2006. Their music is characterized by chaotic, intertwined melodies and a high level of repetition and is strongly influenced by the drums. The group has released two albums so far, both on the Berlin label Sinnbus .

Members

The current line-up consists of Andreas Litfeldt (drums), Calle Fredriksson (guitar), Niklas Fors (bass and vocals) and Tom Skantze (guitar and vocals). Viktor Lager played second guitar and sang until 2009, then left the band and was replaced by Tom Skantze.

Albums

Alarma Man

The band's first album was recorded in 2004 and released on August 25, 2006 on Sinnbus. It is mostly assigned to math punk , the group itself described their style as "labyrint math punk". The ten instrumental pieces seem very chaotic and confused, overall quite dark. In addition, the titles of the songs stand out, which seem cryptic and sometimes pointless, for example "Cheese my Dad" (in German for "cheese my father" or "cheese, my father") and "Shut up or Chaque Jour" ( in German about "shut up or every day") called. The album was received very positively in the scene.

Love Forever

After a four-year hiatus, Alarma Man released their second album, it was also released on August 13, 2010 on Sinnbus. This is the first time vocals can be heard on this album, and overall the style of the group has changed a lot. The music is still quite confused and is therefore still classified as math punk, but it sounds a lot more structured than with “Alarma Man”. The lyrics bring out the gloom of the group while the songs gain structure. This turnaround was largely received positively, but some media judged the change rather negatively. The song "Cabin in the Woods" was later released as a single, but is not available as a phonogram.
