history

Beginnings

Sinnbus as a band collective was founded in Berlin at the end of 2000 by friends of the bands Seidenmatt, Nyorna Quenz, RotoR, Torchous, came: as, Delbo, Kate Mosh and Beach.

At the beginning, concerts , festivals and activities were organized in Berlin , including “Sinnbus Signals”, “Sinnbus The Battle”, “Sinnbus der Seefahrer” and the bicycle race “All about the heating power plant”.

Sinnbus The Battle

At this event , two stages were set up opposite each other and the bands were initially alternated and later played against each other at the same time. The audience was in the middle. Microphones were hung over this to record the applause. A self-programmed "applausometer" was constructed. The result was then projected onto a wall. The winner received a trophy.

The "Sinnbus" label

It was not originally planned to become a label, more Sinnbus had the intention to realize befriended bands and their ideas. Nevertheless, Sinnbus took on label tasks from 2003 and officially existed as a GbR since 2004. The person constellation changes twice; Uwe Bossenz, Martin Eichhorn, Peter Gruse and Daniel Spindler have been the shareholders since 2008. Laureen Kornemann has been part of the team since 2012.

The label work began with the release of the first Seidenmatt album "Wasserluft". With the release of the first Bodi Bill album “No More Wars” and the attention it received, Daniel Spindler and Peter Gruse decided to work full-time for the label.

The label now represents national bands like Bodi Bill , Hundreds , Me and My Drummer , Miss Kenichi , The / Das and international bands like Einar Stray Orchestra , Rue Royale (band) and We Are the City .

To celebrate the 10th anniversary , Sinnbus organized the "10 Years of the Sinnbus Festival ", which took place in Hamburg , Jena , Leipzig and Berlin . Sinnbus bands performed in different variations.
