Alaska is a Hamburg indie pop band that was founded in 1994 under the name Mrs. Wallace .

history

The band was founded in 1994 under the name Mrs. Wallace. Carsten Schreiber had a release in 1993 among 50,000,000 Elvis fans Can't Be Wrong (Baby Trash).

Mrs. Wallace published in 1996 their EP Sense EP that selbstvermarktet of the band and as a genre in addition to the indie pop and the shoegaze has been assigned.

In 1998 the band joined the music label Marsh-Marigold Records , changed the name to Alaska and in 1999 released Kings of the Class, their first 7 "vinyl single.

In 2005, Nouveau Liberty was the band's debut album. The video for the single She Was a Rockstar was released on SPEX DVD # 04 that same year. In 2014 the second album These Sacred Floors was released and was recorded with the cast Martens, Menck, Lienke, Schmieder, Steffens. Carsten Lienke is bassist with The Convent and was the drummer with Connery in 2002, together with Björn Steffens, who played keyboard and guitar.

The 12 "vinyl Whitewash the Tidemarks followed in 2018 , with Stephan Dublasky taking over the electric guitar.
