Alaya

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Alaya (born November 14, 1993 in Valencia , Venezuela ) is a Venezuelan singer , composer , performer and actress .

Life

Alaya began to devote herself to music at a young age. She is co-founder of the first Venezuelan gospel choir "José María Rivolta" and has already appeared in the opening act for the Venezuelan singer Roque Valero and the US rapper BOB. In Venezuela and regionally, she achieved greater fame with her cover of the song "El Perdón" by Nicky Jam and Enrique Iglesias , which was viewed more than 100,000 times on YouTube in the first month alone.

With her first single "Bling Bling", which was released on YouTube at the end of October 2017, she achieved more than one million clicks within just 48 hours. The song was produced and composed by Sebastián Jácome , a grammy-nominated Ecuadorian producer who also produced Alaya's first album. The album "ALAYA" is to be released in January 2018 under Warner Music Latina.

She feels less committed to feminism than to the task of creating a Latin American concept of urban pop, in which facets of reggaeton, dancehall, jazz, trap and electro can also be found. She counts Michael Jackson, Madonna and Jennifer López among her role models.

In November 2018 she released the song "Tócamelo", in which she is accompanied by the Puerto Rican duo Zion & Lennox .
