Albéric de Pisançon
Albéric de Pisançon (also: Alberich de Besançon ) was a French poet of the Middle Ages from the Franco-Provencal-speaking area of Lyon - Vienne - Romans .
meaning
The name of this otherwise anonymous poet is known and passed down solely through his Franco-Provencal song of Alexander . It was probably created around 1100 and was based on the "Res Gestae Alexandri Macedonis" by Iulius Valerius and probably on the "Historia de preliis Alexandri Magni" by Leo of Naples . Alberich's Alexanderlied has only survived as a fragment of 105 verses.
Alberich translated the Alexander novel from Latin into a Franco-Provencal mixed dialect of French, Provencal and Latin phrases and put it in eight-syllable verses. The composition in verse made the oral presentation easier, the use of the Francoprovencal vernacular made it easy to understand and widespread. Also noticeable is his own naming, for which there are no parallels in France before 1100.
Around 1150 the Pfaffe Lamprecht translated Alberich's Alexanderlied into Middle High German . With his Alexanderlied Lamprecht created the first large narrative in the German language. The original text is lost, but with the “Vorauer”, the “Straßburger” and the “Basler Alexander” several versions of the material have been preserved. The author of the French model is mentioned in the "Vorauer Alexander" Alberich von Bisinzo and in the "Strasbourg Alexander" Elberîch von Bisenzun .
