Albero II von Polheim (* around 1200; † 1253 ) was the first regional judge in Austria on the Enns .

Live and act

Albero II von Polheim comes from the noble family of the Pol (l) heimers , who were first mentioned in documents at the beginning of the 12th century. He was the son of Ulrich von Polheim zu Seisenburg and Euphemia von Messenbach. Presumably he was already in public life when his father died around 1220.

The first reliable mention of Albero can be found in the Wilheringer deed of June 19, 1206, in which "Albero de Pollinheim" is mentioned as a witness. Around 1220, Albero appears in several Babenberg documents as a witness to various donations. In 1224 he was taken over by Leopold VI. used as arbitrator in disputes with Archbishop Eberhard II of Salzburg.

Under Emperor Friedrich II. Albero received various orders as a judge and was finally appointed administrator for the area of the state above the Enns around 1236. Until February 1253, Albero II can be found both as a witness and as a judge in many documents. On February 20, 1237 the term "iudex provincialis" was used, which originally only referred to the lower district judges. Albero probably died in 1253 when his sons Albero and Weikhard gave away a farm for the salvation of their father's soul. He is buried in Wilhering Abbey.
