Albert Detzel
Albert Detzel (born November 13, 1905 in Herxheim near Landau / Pfalz , † February 13, 1969 there ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( CDU ).
Life
Albert Detzel attended elementary school and was a worker in the cigar industry and then did a commercial apprenticeship. From 1928 to 1933 he worked full-time at the Central Association of Christian Tobacco Workers, where he was most recently district manager in Offenbach (Main). After the seizure of power by the Nazis, he could not continue his union activities. From 1933 to 1947 he was the office manager of a law firm. From 1940 to 1945 he did military service . From 1947 to 1950 he was a freelance legal advisor and tax agent.
politics
Before 1933 Detzel belonged to the Center Party . In 1937 he became a member of the NSDAP . As part of the denazification , on March 30, 1946, a 20% reduction in salary and a four-year ban on advancement were imposed and the verdict was changed on August 16, 1946 to downgrade by two notches.
In 1949 he joined the CDU and was full-time mayor of Herxheim from 1950 to 1968. In 1952 he became a member of the district assembly and the district committee of the Palatinate and a member of the district, district and state party executive.
He was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate Landtag from June 1, 1955 to May 18, 1959 (3rd electoral term) and from May 18, 1963 to May 17, 1967 (5th electoral term). In the Landtag he was a member of the Budget and Finance Committee in the 3rd electoral term and a member of the Social Policy Committee and the Viticulture and Wine Industry Committee in the 5th electoral term.
He was also a member of the Supervisory Board of Pfalzwerke AG Ludwigshafen. In 1968 he was made an honorary citizen of Herxheim.
