Albert Friedrich Kaselitz (born February 18, 1821 in Berlin , † May 28, 1884 in Chur ) was a German painter .
Life
Kaselitz was trained at the Berlin Art Academy . At a young age he accompanied Graubünden nobles from Graubünden to Sicily on their study trips. From 1850 he worked as a drawing teacher at the city school and the canton school in Chur. In 1859 he married Louise von Mohr (1817-1892), daughter of Theodor von Mohr and sister of Peter Conradin von Mohr.
Kaselitz made portraits and landscapes in the style of Carl Spitzweg . One of the most salient features of his work are very fine, topographically accurate paintings. About ten paintings are known, three of which are in the possession of the Rätisches Museum Chur, as well as two other paintings at the Fundaziun Capauliana in Chur. A few other high-quality paintings are believed to be privately owned.
