Albert Herrnleben (born March 1, 1972 in Bamberg ) is a German cabaret artist and puppeteer .

Life

Albert Herrnleben grew up in the Herrnleben family of artists from Bamberg and was already on stage at the age of five. His grandfather Hans Herrnleben was a regionally well-known humorist and folk actor who founded the Bamberg Puppenbühne Herrnleben in 1945 .

In the 1990s Albert Herrnleben founded the Ensemble SatiriuM, with which he rehearsed readings, sketch evenings and plays. In 1993 he developed the travesty figure Beatrice for himself , which he embodied for almost 20 years, and in whose role he entertained the audience in a Frankish-direct manner. In 2011 he gave his farewell concerts as a travesty artist with the program When the years come and the days fail . Furthermore, he designs chanson programs together with his guitarist Günther Voss .

Since 1993 Albert Herrnleben has been a member of the Bamberg cabaret group Die Äh-Werker, which he directed from 2001 to 2009. In 2004 he initiated the Bamberg Klezmertage, a festival all about klezmer music , which takes place annually in Bamberg in mid-March.
