Albert Hummel

Albert Hummel (born April 18, 1870 in Vienna ; † April 29, 1943 there ) was an Austrian politician ( SDAP ) and health insurance secretary. From 1919 to 1921 he was a member of the state parliament of Lower Austria and from 1919 to 1921 district chairman of Margareten .

After finishing elementary and community school, Hummel attended business school and also completed private courses. Due to the death of his father, he broke off his training and learned the profession of lithographer. He then worked from 1888 to 1896 as assistant chairman of the lithographers and lithographers and then moved to the board of directors of this professional group as a board member. He was subsequently also a member of the board of the Association of Genossenschaftskrankenkassen Vienna and in 1900 was appointed civil servant in the health insurance sector.

Hummel was politically active as the district chairman of the social democrats in Vienna-Margareten and as a member of the state party executive. In 1918 he became deputy district mayor and in 1919 took over the office of district mayor. In addition, he represented the Social Democratic Workers' Party from May 20, 1919 to May 11, 1921 in the Lower Austrian state parliament, from November 10, 1920, during the separation phase of Vienna from Lower Austria, he was a member of the Vienna Curia and from December 30, 1920 was a delegate from Vienna . At the beginning of July 1921, he resigned from his position as district chairman.
