Albert Kehr (born September 20, 1890 in Goldlauter , † May 9, 1979 in Suhl ) is a German native and dialect poet from Thuringia .

Life

Albert Kehr was born as the eldest of nine siblings to Friedrich Josef Kehr and Ernestine Franziska Kehr. Albert Kehr was actually a moulder in Suhl, but increasingly devoted himself to the writing of dialect poems.

He has been writing plays for the Henneberger Heimatblätter since the 1920s and was head of the theater group for the Workers' Gymnastics and Sports Association .

He processed special events in the southern Thuringian area in his poems, for example, he took the crash landing of an airplane on the Schopfewiesen near Goldlauter in 1934 as the occasion for the dialect poem De ohgebraant Krautsupp . Together with Karl Müller, Kehr wrote the text for the song Mein Goldlauter-Heidersbach , which was set to music by Herbert Roth .

Albert Kehr wrote about 90 poems in the course of his life, of which the most famous poems and song texts are published in the book Goldlauter-Heidersbach - Ein Heimatbuch by Rudolf Heym.

Albert-Kehr-Straße in Goldlauter-Heidersbach , (Suhl), has been named after him since the end of the 90s .
