Albert Kopfermann

Albert Kopfermann (born January 15, 1846 in Dortmund , † May 29, 1914 in Berlin ) was a German musicologist and librarian .

Life

Kopfermann studied law , philology and musicology at the universities in Bonn , Berlin and Halle . In 1878 he succeeded the late Franz Espagne as head of the music department of the Royal Library in Berlin and held this position until his death. Wilhelm Altmann was his successor .

He edited some unknown works by Mozart and Beethoven .

In 1908 he was appointed professor.
