Albert Polnariow

Albert Abraham Icko Polnariow (Polnarioff) (born April 10, 1880 in Kobeljaky , Russian Empire (today: Ukraine ); † January 1, 1963 in New York City ) was a Russian violinist , composer , conductor , conductor, and teacher.

biography

In the time before National Socialism, Albert Polnariow was Kapellmeister in Hamburg. After his emigration to the USA he worked as a violin teacher, a. a. by Paul E. West and Jesse Levine (musicians) . Albert Polnariow is known for small pieces of light music. He also published the educational text "Warm-up Exercises for the Violin: And Extracts from the Book, 'The Violinist's Are-unveiling the Mystery'" (1955). Albert Polnariow was the founder of the Violin, Viola and Violoncello Teachers Guild.
