Albert Ferdinand Shore

Albert Ferdinand Shore (* 4. September 1876 in New York City ; † 17th January 1936 in Manhattan , New York City) was an American Metalloge that the Shore durometer developed. He won the Elliott Cresson Medal .

Shore invented the square durometer in 1915 for measuring the hardness of polymers and other elastomers .

Shore died of a stroke at Wickersham Hospital in Manhattan. He was buried in the Trinity Roman Catholic Cemetery in North Amityville, New York.
