style

Sigl writes in his books about Bavaria from 1945 to the present day. His works, some of which are also written in dialect, include short stories and novels. In the 1970s and 1980s Sigl was considered one of the young and wild ones in Bavarian literature who inspired it anew. Sigl addresses the life of the "little people" in Lower Bavaria in the post-war period in his works. He transfigures neither the past nor the present, with sarcastic humor and laconic language he gives the weak in society a voice. “Bitter is the keynote in Albert Sigl's stories of life in the country far beyond the city. Bitter and defiant, very Bavarian in rage and grumpy mockery, so that you laugh hard yourself while reading, ”said the jury's reasoning for the Ernst Hoferichter Prize.
