Albert Statz (born May 1, 1946 in Hilden ) is a German political scientist , administrative officer and was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives for two years from 1989 to 1990 .

Life

Statz studied political science and sociology in Berlin and Marburg. He received his doctorate in 1979 at the University of Marburg with a thesis on "Basic elements of a political-economic theory of Western European integration: the relationship between economy and politics in international capitalism and the contradicting character of the European Community ".

Services

Albert Statz was then a lecturer at the Department of Political Science at the Free University of Berlin with a focus on "European integration, peace research and German foreign policy". Between 1991 and 1992 he was a substitute professor for social sciences at the Hochschule der Künste .

Between 1992 and 1995 he was a civil servant at the Lower Saxony Ministry for Federal and European Affairs. From 1999 to 2007, Statz was then an employee at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety , where he was most recently head of the department “Basic matters of environmental protection and sustainability strategies”.

In July 2007 he took early retirement .

Today he is a Senior Associate at Ecologic Institute. and since 2008 member of the "Sustainability Advisory Board of the State of Brandenburg".

From 1981 to 1982 Statz was responsible for the publications of the "Initiative Socialist Politics - Internal Information and Discussion Organ of the ISP Group Berlin (West)"; then he joined the Alternative List for Democracy and Environmental Protection (AL). From 1989 to 1990 Statz was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives for AL Berlin. From 1995 to 1999 he was the "European policy coordinator of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group " in the German Bundestag .
