Alberto Ferreiro

Alberto Ferreiro (* 1952 in Mexico City ) is an American historian .

Life

From 1973 to 1977 he studied history at Tarrant County Junior College in Fort Worth and from 1977 to 1979 at the University of Texas at Arlington , where he received an MA in 1979 with the thesis: St. Martin of Braga: His Times, Life, and Thought. From 1979 to 1986 he completed a further study and promotion for PhD at the University of California, Santa Barbara . Dissertation topic: The Visigoths in Gaul and Spain AD 418–711: A Bibliography, 1986. From 1991 to 1998 he was adjunct professor at Fuller Theological Seminary , Seattle. Since 2006 he has been a full professor at Seattle Pacific University. Since 2007 he has been teaching as a visiting professor at the University of Salamanca .

His focus is on New Testament apogryphs, patrology (authors of the Iberian Peninsula), the history of the Spanish Visigothic Empire, Gaul in late antiquity, the history and spirituality of medieval monasticism, pilgrimage and Vincent Ferrer .
