Alberto García Martínez (born January 7, 1965 in Mexico City ), also known by the nickname Guamerú , is a former Mexican football player who mainly played in midfield .

career

"Guamerú" García began his professional career at CF Monterrey , with whom he won the Mexican Cup competition in the 1991/92 season .

In 1993 Guamerú moved to Mexico's most popular club, Chivas Guadalajara , where he was under contract for the next three years. A short stay at Club Santos Laguna gave him his only championship title in the Mexican football league in the winter of 1996 .

He then spent several years at Club León before ending his active career in the ranks of the Querétaro Fútbol Club .
